Last month, DocStar customer Craft Brew Alliance, Inc. (CBA) (Nasdaq:BREW), won big at the North American Beer Awards (NABA) held in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Its Kona Brewing Co., Omission Beer, and Widmer Brothers Brewing brands earned five awards, including two gold medals:

  • GOLD – Widmer Brothers Hefe – American-Style Hefeweizen
  • GOLD – Omission Lager – Dortmunder Export
  • SILVER – Widmer Brothers Drop Top Amber Ale – Best Ordinary Bitter
  • SILVER – Longboard Lager – Dortmunder Export
  • BRONZE – Widmer Brothers Drifter Pale Ale – English-Style Pale Ale

NABA is an annual blind tasting and one of the most respected beer events in the country. This year, the panel of judges blind tasted, judged, and ranked over 1,700 entries in 96 style categories.

Headquartered in Portland, Ore., Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) is an independent craft brewing company that brews, brands, and brings to market world-class American craft beers and the 5th largest craft brewing company in the U.S.

Pretty impressive! But wait, there’s more: The company is strutting its stuff with its business prowess as well as its bodacious brews. CBA was recently awarded the Seal of Distinction for 2017 by WorldatWork, a global nonprofit human resources association for organizations focused on compensation, benefits, work-life effectiveness and total rewards. It is one of 160 organizations — and the only beer company chosen from around the world to receive the 2017 distinction.

As part of CBA’s investment in empowering its employees, the company has deployed DocStar ECM Enterprise Content Management and AP Automation. DocStar offers the industry’s most flexible and innovative enterprise content management and process automation platform that’s easy to implement and use — for both cloud and on premises deployments.

With DocStar, CBA is reducing employee effort and improving productivity in its AP processes. CBA also plans to automate manual, paper-based processes in other areas of the company such as Human Resources, Legal, Quality Assurance, and Procurement.

Leveraging a document management solution will not only increase efficiencies but will directly support CBA’s sustainability initiative to dramatically reduce the one and a half million sheets of paper consumed each and every year.

Congratulations Craft Brew Alliance! You’ve got some amazing stuff on tap and we are honored to partner with you to help translate vision into action.
