According to a published report by lancasteronline.com, Sadsbury Township has joined several nearby municipalities in signing on with DocStar, a service that is expected to make it much easier for township officials to retrieve important documents.
DocStar scans and stores documents, such as sewer and zoning permits, so that officials can readily but securely access them by computer.
According to supervisors, searching through decades-old files can sometimes take days.
Supervisor Linda Swift said DocStar will be accessible only through a secure connection at the township office. But the system will help public officials retrieve documents — including information available to the public — much faster.
